  • Kerala History

    According to the history of India , Kerala stands in an important roll . The local mythology tells that the land of Kerala was created by Parassurama the Avatar of Mahavishnu who claimed the land by throwing his axe in the ocean. The origins of some cultures are formed in Kerala.

    The residues of the old town Muziris still exist here(About 25 KM far from Cochin city). This is also a tourist spot for who have the taste to study about Archeology and she research students .In the Muziris time Kerala was one of the major spices exporting business hub of India especially black pepper . In the ancient age lots of lots of tourists are visited Kerala and Kerala adopted some of their tradition too. That includes Chinese pan, Chinese fishing net etc . by a Chinese visitor during his visit to Kerala. Still the Chinese fishing net kept here as one of the icon of Kerala. Immemorial visitors from Europe written about Kerala’s social background with details in their bibliography. Dr.Herman was a German missionary compiled a Malayalam grammar book for Keralites.

    In India the origin of the religion Christian and Muslim were formed from Kerala. The apostle of Jesus Christ , St.Thomas landed here in Kerala by ship at the place named maliyankara. History told that Maliyankara(About 25 KM far from Cochin) is the portion of ancient town Muziris.After that, many of the Christian missionaries came here and they built many Churches and Educational institutions. For the culture of Kerala education they donate valuable things. The antique pieces at the period of Jainas and Budhas still it protected as a treasure.

    The first mosque of India were built in Kerala, still that Mosque is existing in a place named Kodungallur(About 30 KM far from Cochin city), Which is the portion of old Muziris town and maintained as a historical monument.

    Kappad is a famous beach near Kozhicode, Kerala. Where the Portuguese explorer Vas co da Gama landed. His voyage established a sea route from Europe to india. Some of the places which were the Portuguese,French and British colonies are still exixting in Kerala. According to them the forts,towns, buildings and Churches are existing as monuments.

    Greater number of Kings and their kingdom,, and their historical defends and attacks were covered in the soil of Kerala. The social reformers like Chattambi Swamikal, Sreenarayana Guru, Sahodaran Ayyappan were lived in this beautiful kerala.the another achievement of Kerala is that the well known poets like kumaranashan,Vallathol,Ullur etc. were lived here with their beautiful creation of poems. The great personalities who dedicated his life for Indian freedom fight also an unavoidable participation.
